Katy Faure

Clinical Psychology Registrar

Katy is a patient, warm, and curious clinical psychology registrar. Her approach is trauma-informed, and she strives to develop a transparent, safe, and authentic relationship with her clients, where they can explore what is important to them in life. She has experience in delivering evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-integrated modalities. Katy completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) at Macquarie University and her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney. She is a keen researcher and has been published for her research around evidence-based ways to classify and diagnose mental health issues.  

 

Katy has worked with children, parents, adolescents, adults, and carers to manage a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotion regulation, suicidality, interpersonal issues, trauma, identity, and insomnia. She has worked in parenting interventions, personality disorder treatment, university clinics, and acute mental health care. Her interest lie primarily in working with people who experience interpersonal difficulties, and people with trauma histories. Her primary aim when working with clients is to help them develop the tools to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
