Darby Fochesato
Registered Psychologist | Clinical Psychology Registrar
Darby is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar with a Bachelor of Psychology (First Class Honours) and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She is dedicated to providing evidence-based and compassionate care that supports clients in developing insight, resilience, and confidence to feel empowered in managing life’s challenges.
Darby has built her expertise across a variety of clinical and educational settings, including the Macquarie University Psychology Clinic, John Morony Correctional Centre and Knox Grammar Senior School. She currently also works as a school psychologist at an independent junior school, in research to explore the impact of social media and technology on young people, and as a university tutor at Macquarie University.
In her clinical work, Darby supports individuals across the lifespan primarily presenting with anxiety and mood disorders, emotional regulation difficulties, identity concerns, adjustment challenges, interpersonal relationship disharmony and neurodivergent presentations. She draws upon evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to guide her practice.
Darby is deeply committed to helping clients turn periods of uncertainty into opportunities for growth, supporting them to better understand themselves and build resilience through life’s transitions.
Outside of work, she loves staying active, going on weekend trips, hanging out with her dogs, and enjoying the city’s best eats.
