Hilary Choi

Registered Psychologist | Clinical Psychology Registrar

Hilary is a warm and compassionate psychologist and clinical psychology registrar. She is dedicated to cultivating a supportive therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life challenges. Hilary adopts a client-centred and evidence-based approach in her work with adolescents and adults, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs. She brings a calm, grounding presence to therapy and values collaboration, emotional safety, and curiosity in the therapeutic process. At the heart of her work is a commitment to helping individuals build a life worth living.

Hilary holds a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours and a Master of Clinical Psychology. She has valuable experience working in private practice, as well as in public health and university clinic settings, including Rivendell Child and Adolescent Unit in Concord Hospital and the UTS Psychology Clinic.

Her clinical experience includes treating Depression and Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Emotion Dysregulation, Complex Trauma, Attachment Difficulties, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Personality Disorders, Self-Esteem Issues, Interpersonal Relationship Challenges, and General Life Stressors. She works from a trauma-informed lens and is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy.

Hilary is particularly passionate about supporting individuals from backgrounds where mental health is not openly discussed or accepted, and strives to create an empathetic and culturally sensitive space to help them work toward their goals. Outside of her professional life, Hilary enjoys scenic walks, the beach, trying new restaurants, filming creative videos, and spending quality time with loved ones.
