Mikaela Stowe

Registered Psychologist | Clinical Psychology Registrar

Mikaela is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She is deeply committed to providing evidence-based psychological care that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual, while fostering a clinical environment that balances professionalism with warmth and support. Mikaela is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges. 

Mikaela has received clinical experience through her work at the Macquarie University Psychology Clinic, Macquarie Hospital, and the Centre for Emotional Health. Throughout these experiences, she has supported children, adolescents, and families in managing conditions such as anxiety, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and phobias. She has also worked with adult clients in inpatient mental health settings, providing a broad range of therapeutic interventions. Mikaela’s expertise spans several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, she is skilled in conducting psychological assessments for conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disorders, and Giftedness. 

Mikaela’s clinical interests are particularly focused on anxiety disorders, perfectionism, self-confidence, and family dynamics. Her ongoing commitment to these areas is evident through her involvement in research and professional development opportunities centred on mental health and therapeutic interventions. 

Outside of work, Mikaela enjoys outdoor activities such as running and hiking, cooking, as well as reading and spending quality time with her dog.
